"This event reflects the enormous potential for offshore wind energy development in Germany, the rest of Europe and other regions around the world. By 2010, 4000 MW are likely to be installed in European waters. By 2020, annual investments could reach €10 - 15 billion.

We have now proved it is possible to rapidly develop and build power plant sized offshore wind farms which are capable of producing electricity at a stable and predictable price. These develoments have limited environmental and visual impacts and create high quality jobs in deprived coastal regions.

T
his conference is perfectly timed to address the challenges and opportunities now presented by the expected growth in offshore wind development."

Kaj Lindvig, Chair of the Conference / CEO, A2SEA / Board member, Danish Wind Industry Association

"It is an honour to represent Sweden as Vice-Chair of the 2007 European Offshore Wind Conference in Berlin. Offshore wind power has enormous potential in Europe and it is of great interest to many players in Sweden. I see the event as an ideal opportunity to highlight this potential, discuss the main barriers and propose solutions to accelerate the deployment of offshore wind farms."

Anders Hedenstedt, Vice -chair of the conference / Chairman of Swedenergy / CEO of Göteborg Energi AB
